loRRi Dobko

I grew up on a farm in Alberta riding horses, doing the chores, weeding the garden and picking the raspberries. In her free time, if she had any, Mom was crafting and sewing, she passed her skills on to me. By the age of 6, I was sewing my own doll clothes, as a teenager I did the whole macrame craze, and ever since I have kept my hands busy with many other creative projects. But my real love is Fabric. The colors, the patterns the textures make my mind race with the possibilities. I like to create art that is colorful, happy, a bit quirky and evokes a sense of freedom. My current series of Fabric doorway curtains and wall hangings are just that and more. Living in Ajijic certainly helps to get the creative juices flowing and just have fun making art.
